Starting my own business

It looks like the economy is starting to bounce back, but does that mean that all of the people who lost their jobs will have new employment opportunities?

I’ve been working on a “part-time” basis for almost 5 years now. As a teacher, I have seen my paycheque dwindle year after year as provincial budgets were cut, class sizes shrunk, and my employment contracts became further and further from full-time.

This year, I decided to take measures into my own hands and start my own business. I can rebuild my credit. I have the technology. I have the capability to build the first “bionic” accounting and bookkeeping firm in Port Alberni. I will be that firm. Better than I was before. Better, stronger, faster. (I apologize for the Six Million Dollar Man references…)

So here I am. 11 days until my “official” business launch. Website and blog: ready. Accounting systems: ready. Business cards and letterhead; ready. Attitude and motivation: Full Speed Ahead.

See you in a couple of days.
